Seth came to the Eel River Valley in early 2016 to open the Fortuna Grocery Outlet with his wife Stefanie. They are independent operators and are proud to own a local business and support the local community with over 38 jobs that are 95% full time.

Seth finds it very important to connect with other local business owners and network and found that the Chamber provides exactly that opportunity.

He serves on the Tourism & Marketing committee. Seth is excited to give back, share, and help support Chamber and our local membership through service on the board.

Cara Knostman

My husband Greg & I are the owners of Lotus Mountain Screen Printing, a local full service printing company. I feel lucky that my business gives me the opportunity to work closely with many local business owners, non-profits and schools. I love the town of Fortuna and enjoy being a part of the vibrant business community.

Thank you so much

On this day in 1983, Fortuna Chamber President Allan Baird presided over the chamber meeting, with 28 members & guests present. Humboldt Bay Mobile Estates was recognized as a new member. Jamie Robinson, Fortuna Market, was introduced as a guest. Will McWhorter announced pre-Rodeo week activities would start Monday night. Redwood Village Shopping Center planned several activities, such as watermelon and pie eating contests. Fireworks and the penny scramble would take place Friday night. Dorothy Early announced that the Fortuna BPW Luncheon Club pancake breakfast would start at 7:00 a.m. Saturday. The Everhealth Home Care invited members to its Open House July 21, from 12 to 5:00 p.m. Richard Rodrigue said there were still a few openings for the Cal Nickel weekend trip on August 20. There will be a cocktail social hour, a no host dinner, and a guided tour of the mining operation. Commencing July 19, NWP R.R. would add a surcharge on cars leaving this area. Stan Parker told members that the President of Southern Pacific is coming here for talks. The Chamber sent a letter to the Board of Supervisors asking that public hearings be held by the Supervisors giving the public an opportunity to express their interests in the railroad abandonment. Mrs. Eddie Manna, PG&E representative, described a new program of energy rebates initiated by PG&E small business consumers. By installation of many types of energy savings now, an added 10% could be saved in addition to the long term use savings. Will McWhorter urged members to write their legislators for support of S.B. 1120, a measure which would exempt volunteer firemen from liability in emergency situations. This would prevent suits being brought against firemen if, in performance of rescue situations, an accident or injury is sustained. It was announced that Doug Edgmon would provide the program next week on offshore drilling. The meeting was adjourned and recorded by D. Barker, Secretary. ... See MoreSee Less
